A member ministry of Unity Worldwide Ministries

Sundays at ten,
a place to pray
on Moose Island.

301 Washington Street, Eastport, Maine 04631 About an hour, with coffee in the hall after.

An older man steps in through the open door, a woman and a teenager just behind him, with the harbor beyond

Sundays at 10:00 AM, in person and online

Nobody here will ask what you believe before they offer you a seat.

Some of us fish, some teach, some came to Eastport to retire and some are only passing through. On Sunday we sit together for an hour of music, quiet prayer and a message you can carry into Monday.

Wondering if you’d fit in? Come and see.

Your first Sunday

Here’s what happens, start to finish, so nothing catches you off guard.

Someone at the door
A greeter says hello and helps you find a seat. Sit anywhere, and wear whatever keeps you warm.
Parking
Park on Washington Street or in the small lot behind the hall. The side door has a ramp.
Children
Kids start the service with you, then head to their own class with trained volunteers.
About an hour
Music, a time of quiet prayer, a message from Rev. Nora Haskell, and the Peace Song to close.
Coffee after
Stay for coffee in the fellowship hall, or slip out. Either’s fine.
No pressure
You will not be asked to stand up, speak, join or give. Watching is enough.

On making space for the people we have not met yet, and for the parts of ourselves we keep outside.

One affirmation, every Monday

Two sentences to start your week, by email. No news, no appeals.

What Unity teaches

Five plain ideas, in Unity’s own words. Questions about any of them are always welcome.

  1. God is everywhere and always present in every circumstance. This divine energy underlies and animates all of existence.
  2. Human beings are innately good because they are connected to and an expression of Spirit.
  3. Our thoughts have creative power to influence events and determine our experiences.
  4. Prayer and meditation connect and align us to our own spiritual nature within God.
  5. It is not enough to understand spiritual teachings. We must apply our learning in all areas of life, incorporating them into our thoughts, words, and actions.

Giving is a practice, too

A love offering is part of the service. Visitors are never expected to give.

Ask for prayer

After every service, our Prayer Chaplains will pray with you, quietly, off to the side of the room. You don’t need the right words.

Any hour, any day

Silent Unity®, the prayer ministry at Unity Village, Missouri, prays with anyone who calls, around the clock.
